How to get a child interested in numbers? Learning through play with the Syska Kids puzzle.

You might think that science and fun are words that stand in opposition. Nothing could be further from the truth. It all depends on the approach and choosing the right methods. Even for an adult the vision of sitting at a textbook with numbers seems to be tedious. What to say about toddlers, who need a lot of stimuli and sensations. Not for a little explorer hours at the bench. So, where to start learning and what to do to make it effective? What tools can be used to get a child interested in numbers? About this in today's article.

When should you start teaching your child to count?

Let's start with a basic question. When is the right moment for a toddler to start the adventure with mathematics? There is nothing to wait for - it is worth starting this adventure as soon as possible. It has been scientifically proved that already newborn babies have the ability of abstract thinking. What is more, the period until 9 years of age is the time of the greatest plasticity of the brain. This is when the gray cells are ready to assimilate a surprisingly large amount of knowledge. The role of parents is to provide the child with games appropriate for his level, which will stimulate and develop his brain. The first math lessons should be started before the backpack appears on the toddler's back. How to do it in order not to discourage the toddler to the world of numbers?

How do you teach a child the basics of math?

Watching your child is key. Learning to count is like learning to write and speak. There are no rigid rules about when a child should say the first word. Books for parents make suggestions of sorts, but keep in mind that this is an individual matter for each toddler. The lack of frameworks and ticking off points takes the stress off parents' shoulders. Let's establish - parenting has enough of those already. When deciding on home math lessons, it's a good idea to keep a close eye on your child. What causes him the greatest difficulty in learning numbers? What kind of games have a stimulating effect on him? When is it easiest for him to concentrate?

We answered these questions ourselves, and that's how we came up with our puzzle, which is a great support for taking your first steps in the world of math.

Syska Kids jigsaw puzzle - an effective way to learn counting.

We have little testers at home and they inspire us to create new products. Our son Titus started to be interested in numbers when he was 3,5 years old. He recognized numbers on approaching buses, buildings, and on store prices. We quickly noticed that some numbers were difficult for him and he often confused them with each other. Need is the mother of invention. In order to help Titus discover the land of mathematical puzzles, we created a colorful puzzle for him. The puzzle contained the numbers from 0 to 9 and the number 10. In addition, each piece had its own color and was matched to the place in the row.

He quickly took a liking to the game. It also became our favorite family game - we chose one of the numbers from the puzzle, and our son showed the corresponding number of fingers. Thanks to this game he quickly understood what numbers are and the value of each number.

Seeing the effects, we decided to introduce the product to our store. We are aware of the fact that the youngest children can be real individualists. That is why you can order the jigsaw puzzle in several color versions and, in addition, personalize it - we are ready to add any inscription or dedication.

We are curious to see how the puzzle will work out for your little ones. Be sure to let us know!
